A group of everyday folks just like you are working together to preserve this oldest homestead in Elgin, Texas.

In 2015, the homestead and the 1-acre upon which it sits were donated to the Foundation with the stipulation that the restoration be completed by December 2018.

The restoration cost estimate is $500,000 and we are raising funds through grant funding and donations from individuals and foundations.

- the strength of Texas women,
- multicultural strengths of Elgin in the context of the history of Elgin, Bastrop County, and central Texas, and
- ecology and sustainable agriculture.
